The much awaited IRACON 2009 is just around the corner and it just seems like yesterday that we had met at Pune for IRACON 2008.
Scientific programme is ready for the conference, invitations have been sent to all the speakers and we have got the consent of most of speakers by now. Every attempt has been made to incorporate lectures of common interest to all Rheumatologists but also emphasis has been placed on the recent advances. The priority has been given to merit and scientific temper rather than commercial interests. The galaxy of speakers chosen is the best in their respective fields and renowned world over for their contribution to medicine. We are extremely grateful to them and the international faculty who have consented to come to the conference despite their busy schedules and Swine Flu!!
This year we have laid special emphasis to give the lead to the Generation Next. The younger lot of Rheumatologists has been given the maximum number of lectures
The future of Rheumatology is always reflected in the free papers. The papers have been diligently screened and selected for oral and poster presentations purely on merit. Therefore, these papers have been specially slotted in the prime time of the conference to ensure maximum attendance. We are sure the younger lot will remember us when we walk into the sunset.
In the same breath, we also express our regrets for anyone who could not be accommodated due to paucity of time. But we sincerely appeal to the Rheumatology family to attend this conference and make it a success
